I;ve noticed the handlebar stem is a bit flexy. The rest of the bike is rock solid.

Is there a different handlebar stem that I can buy or is there a modification?

The seat post is MUCH thicker than most bikes, which seems to account for
it's relative lack of flex.

I'd love to know the answer, too. I love my dahon, but I cannot get up out of the saddle and hammer like I can on my Bike Friday. I wonder if you can order a stem assembly by itself from Bike Friday? they both use 1" headsets so it might work. the downside would be that the fold on the dahon would then become much more cumbersome.
