Howdy all.

I've got a Champion Flyer saddle on a post with a bit of a setback, and I would like to get my seat just a wee little bit more forward. I know I can just buy another post that is straight up and get the extra few cm's, but I was wondering if there was any reason I couldn't just reverse the direction of the seatpost and thus get what I'm looking for without spending any money.

Thomson says their setback posts are reversible - yours probably is as well.

The seat post is spherical so is there for most certianly reversable, it iwll fit at any angle. As far as putting the saddle on back to front, this should be fine although you may wish to play it safe and not put the saddle as far forward or back as it can go, just to be on the safe side, in otherwords keep it where the saddle rails are parralel.

Most seatposts aren't reversable. Due to the angle of your bike's seat tube, the seatpost has to have a clamp that mimics that angle. Most won't work in the reverse position.

Since you already own the saddle, seatpost and bike, why don't you just try it for yourself? That way you'll know for 100% certain.
