Has anyone picked up one of these jackets (http://corporate.marketworks.com/StoreFrontProfiles/deluxeSFshop.aspx?sid=1&sfid=100961&c=40002820) from ediscountbikes. they also list a ton of stuff on ebay.

I see nothing exciting about that jacket. I am not that familiar with the fabric "Respira" but a quick google search indicated that they make beachwear. Seem a little ironic to me? I think for the money you could do better.

Be aware that a $5 unlined cycling jacket can be very valuable in many conditions if you dress properly under it. The jacket should just be a shell layer and mainly block wind and rain. The midlayer will should have the insulating properties. At least that is what many recommend.

I really am not a "mid layer" type of guy. I get too hot regardless how cold. I usually wear a thermal cycling jersey and add an extra wind layer over it if it is REAL cold! (unlined cycling vest works great) Remember that you are going to have a bigger battle getting rid of heat than you are of retaining it.

That is why you should look for a jacket that has pit zips, a large vent in the back and of course a nice front zipper. I don't care how "breathable" many of these fabrics claim to be. Nothing breathes better than an open zipper!

I'd worry about their sizing. They state a 54=44 but also say it's XXL. A 44 is a L maybe XL in the states. E discount bikes tend to handle cheaper stuff. That's not to say it won't work but it will be on th elow end. I have bought some stuff from them. Their stuff works, just ain't high quality.
As far as a winter jacket I wear a very breathable wind breaker and layer accornding to temp. I don't worry about water repellancy. Tough to get a bomber rain jacket that won't make you sweat like a pig. Charlie
