My LBS is great. I bought a bike off the head mechanic in addition to buying 2 bikes at the shop and he is always doing repairs for me very cheaply. Today he switched rear derailer, cassette and chain and put in connectors to make shifters and brakes separate for packing. He took my S & S couplings apart and cleaned them up and put new brake pads on the rear brake. He also put a shorter stem on. He only charged me for a DuraAce Chain and 2 cables giving me his discount. (Total around $40). I usually tip him. He will probably be putting my regular cassette and derailer back on the bike after a bike tour in Arizonia with 30,000 feet of climbing. So.... how much should I give him for his trouble? $50 or $100?? I don't have any idea how much these services cost. He always fixes my bike on the day and time I bring it in. I did leave it overnight for this job. Sorry....I can not tell you the bike shop name or the mechanics name or I would have to kill you. (he he)
