So I just stripped the plastic screws for the mounting bracket.
Why are these screws plastic?
The plastic latches wouldn't go through by hand, so as I turn the screws they pulled forward. I wasn't sure if I was doing it right, but I realized, "oh good design, you can tighten the bracket to the bike very well with this method."
What'd I do wrong? Was I supposed to use a plastic screwdriver? What a POS.

The screws are plastic because previous models had metal screws, which tore right through the nylon of the bracket itself. So they fixed THAT design flaw by introducing a new one ;)
