Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 30. Southwest wind between 11 and 15 mph.

On Wednesday, the high is supposed to 51. WTF?

He yall, I'd like to sit down with a few of you guys to discus how to create a grass track racing leauge for this spring. I'd like to do it officialy so we can use a local park or 2 and not get kicked out.

i would really like to see if we could use a high school's track to hold races on. like in exchange for letting us "practice" there we'd hold a race to raise money for them.

back when i went to bu - the indoor track there had banked corners. i'm not sure if it still exists, but i would have loved to race on that. thing is that most indoor tracks would be prone to getting chewed up if someone took a gnarly spill.

I'm with you on this. Not that I dislike the ghettodrome, but yeah, it'd be nice to have some official spot where we actually "belong" on the property. Plus, I'd like to get some of my teammates to start practicing track races/tactics before college nats in September.

Out of curiosity (and due to my total ignorance), does grass track racing have any specific kind of races that are different from velodrome racing, or is it basically all the same stuff (miss n' out, Madison, sprints, pursuit, etc.)?

same types of race, I think the most common is an 800m sprint and "devil take the hind" or miss outs

****, I'll be there unless it is tremendously crappy out. Any idea how long the race will be?

Also, I'm assuming it's fixed only - yes, no, maybe so?

Doubtful that it's fixed-only, unless it says specifically someplace...

It's hard to say how long the race will be. I'm anticipating 25-30 miles.

Well I dunno...I feel like showing up with my S-Works E5 might be kind of dick if everyone else is rocking their Steamrollers, Mark Vs, Pistas, NJS blingmobiles, and whatever else.

It'd be easy enough to get my Steamroller in shape for the race. I still don't feel comfortable going all out with no brakes on my Pulse. It's fine for a trip to the Ghettodrome, but I'd definitely balk at duking it out in traffic that way.

The Hub is putting up one of those sexy Merino Wool Jerseys that me & Stickyfoot are always rockin'. Not sure who or what it will it will take to win it ... but I'll be bringing up and letting Lauren & Jill decide what to with it. Ride hard bi.tches.

That was seriously one of the best things i've ever eaten.

First I want to say that schliz and giggles was a blast last night, and want to thank if for the after party.
But in sadder news I got hit by a cab on the way home from schlitz and giggles last night. The cab turned left on a red light, and smashed into me with his side view mirror, knocking it off (the side view mirror). I then out of shear stupification punched in his windshield until it caved in. I felt really bad cause the cab driver looked so scared. The cab then sped away, almost knocking me over again. I think pete got the cabs hackney licence, but he might have been too drunk/tired to remeber it. My knee is now swollen and my back huts...

I'm out tonight. I'm also too sore. And too internally bleeding.

rutt
02-28-06, 07:46 PM
Yikes, I completely missed that thread. I hope you're doing okay, and that it's just soreness. And Rob, internal bleeding? From your run-in with a car?

Alexi
02-28-06, 08:42 PM
no it's rob's time of the month from his inner vagina

stickyfoot
02-28-06, 10:21 PM
Alexi's right. If by inner vagina you mean my outer thigh and its oozing discoloration slowly spreading down my leg. Lumpy bruises rule!

In actual riding news, anybody want to take some scouting trips with me to area running tracks? I'm thinking about organizing a Ghettodrome Alleycat, but I want to include some places like Dorchester in the action. Maybe a good Sunday afternoon ride or something.

I am heading home for break, and I will most likely be in Boston for some time either on the 1st - 3rd or the 10th - 11th and was wondering if there are any crucial rides that I should get in on while I am in the area.

rutt
03-01-06, 07:47 AM
I'd be into that, Rob, but I'll be in NYC this Sunday. I could probably go Saturday afternoon.
