Who's on the other end?

I'd race this. Only not on Chicago weekend. I guess that means next weekend.

Naw I doubt it.. I ordered the cheap Bicyclewheels.com wheelset so it'll take awhile for shipping... I'll be riding my regular geared rode bike for the alley cat, I usually don't ride it around the city but I'm got no choice until the wheelset comes in... not all bad though, I was plannnig on get a wheelset or suiciding that ****ty freewheel hub I was riding on, now the decision has been made for me!...

P.S. I posted the PM thing becuase some folk wrote down their names and digits for me for use as witnesses but I'm try'n to match names with face :-/ cus my memory is ****ty (bad memory completely unrelated to accident)...

Also, the dude who hit me was driving a 2-door mid 90's mazda MX3 Mass plates 25R D63 it looked like this same collor but ****tier:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/2/28/1992_MX3_V6_24V.jpg/300px-1992_MX3_V6_24V.jpg

this mutha****er had the nerve to intentionally hit ME becuase he claimed SOMEONE ELSE in the ride touched his car. He then tried to flee the scene but was stopped by other cyclists, after the whole thing was over and the cop left I was crossing the BU bridge to head home and the SAME dude past by and had the nerve to yell "nice bike *****"...

This dude deserves some serious ****ty karma (I stopped people on the scene from doing anything to him or his car but I kinda wish I didn't now), but also you should be on the lookout becuase he clearly has it out for cyclists and has no regard for safety or decency. If I see this car again it'll take everything I have not to put my lock through the windshield or some ****...

I will investigate. I am just intrested in looking at some cheap old components and possibly finding a nice old stem. Oh and I totally agree on Ace, thats where I picked up my new bike.

Filed I police report directly after the accident, or incident is more like is considering it was intentional not accidental... Also I contacted a lawyer named Andrew M. Fischer who is known in Boston for being the leading cyclist attorney... I told him my story and he said:

"You have the option of seeking criminal prosecution against the driver, even if the police do not want to cooperate. You can also file a civil claim against the driver's auto insurance for the bike damage. You can also file a complaint against the police officer....."

I'm waiting to go to the police station and pick up a copy of the report then contact Fischer again, I'll weigh my options and keep you guys update at that time...

I really just want the ~$200 bucks it's gonna cost me for a new wheelset, tires, tubes, and all that ****.. even with the cheap-o wheelset at 150 by the time I pay shipping and tires and tubes it's gonna be over 200.

I was in there a few weeks ago and the had a handful of both stems and assorted components.. They will also let you put your bike up on a stand and borrow their tools if you wanna do some work in shop yourself for like $6-7 bucks an hour

their hours kinda suck though... I never get there before they close

how does sunday morning/afternoon the 19th work for the boston-providence race?

rt 1 should be fairly clear on this day, the pats also be out of town.

and on that day:

513 years ago Christopher Columbus discovered Puerto Rico
and
143 years ago US President Abraham Lincoln, delivers the famous 'Gettysburg' address

November 19th 2006 WILL be a historic event

if this date works for you, i'll get this in the works

stickyfoot

Works for me. So does the 18th.

19th is cool.

Was there a particular post-race event in mind? If the race started in the morning, after some beer (race gas), eating and trash talk, people could race/ride/hope-to-make-it-alive back to boston that afternoon.

Has anyone ridden rt 1 all the way there? Is it reasonable on a bike?

pixel
10-30-06, 04:50 PM
45 miles fixed? oh I'm so fcuked but can't say no to a challenge.

I had to drive down it, almost half way to providence for a gig i had and the whole way is pretty fair. no bike lane or anything, but there are "bike signs" at most intersections and lots of breakdown lanes.

it's not going to be easy, but just to accomplish this would be sick.
an early morning start would be nice since it may take 4-5 hours and the race will end at a bar in providence, not deffinate on which but their is one called Alley Cat or some where on Thayre St.

Maybe some Providence kids could get an after-race race or small ride or pub-crawl through providence?

as for RIDING BACK?!

after riding 50 miles... the only thing on my mind will be beer.

i'm not sure on greyhound's/peter pan's policies on bikes, but i cant imagine having a few bikes in the undercaridge would be a big deal. I'll call and find out this week.

but a bus from providence to boston is only 8 bux

the roads seem pretty flat, with maybe a few steep inclines. riding fixed is going to be rough but fun.

and there will have to be a hell of an after party

Good luck on the race tonight, fellows, an 11th Hour Infection has deep-sixed my Halloween Hopes...
