Rides and Races - Boston rides

what's up guys and gals,

I scored a 80's univega from the dumbster tonight, and I haven't had a chance to look it over and see what kinda shape its in.. anyway, I don't have a stand or a space to properly work on bikes, I was wondering if any of you have a workspace/stand/tools to let me play around in for a bit in exchange for a six pack or something?????

I have now idea if this thing is gonna be worh keeping but I wanna take it apart if nothin more then for fun..

aw, sad. i saw you riding down mass ave as i drove the other way with a car load full of furniture, but couldn't yell out the window to say hi. i'm surprised you're not in bed with the flu like the rest of the chicago crew.

Providence alley cat Dec 2!!! 2pm Kennedy Plaza downtown. I'm so there. Anyone else interested? I can fit 3 other people and probably 2 - 3 other bikes in my car/bike rack.

they have the checkpoints up on the website. wtf? i mean, cool, but, ok, start planning routes now...looks like we get to go down the east bay bike path, and to the temple of music in roger williams (bonus quiz: who is the only musician to ever play in the temple of music? if you answered SUN RA, you'd be correct.)

also, commuter rail might be a more fun option than driving. also i'm going to try and organize a lady team to rock this thing. :)

well, it doesn't say whether you have to do the cp's in any kind of order. or whether you have to go to one cp, back to start and then to another. i imagine it'll be something where further away cps are worth more points and you have to go back and forth from the cp to the start/finish

2nd is a Saturday so I should be able to make that race unless a school project gets in the way.

I got stuck staying up until around 4:00 AM this morning with... uh.... things.... yeah...... I woke up at about 12:30 this morning (complete with really really cheap beer hangover that I took a handful of ibprofen to settle), so I hope everyone has a good ride to providence.

Last night was awesome though, although after the sprints, skid comp, beer sprints need to be done for maximum impact, then foot down, then drinking, then track stand competition as the final.

my bike was at south station too. I've never had any trouble parking it there for 3 or 4 days. Just thought I'd say something. Looks like they cleaned out some of the abandoned bikes too...

Actually I'm not really interested in getting a job mess'n... just wondering cus I know a guy who works there and I was wondering what kinda place would hire this ****** bag, kids literally courier'n for this company on a wheelset he stole from a bike locked in harvard sq... bike thief/messenger, terms shouldn't be mixed in my mind...
