as fun as the blitzing was, the after-happenings were equally great.

What do you all use to keep your feet warm?

There is NO WAY that street is Harvard property.

I think the employees Spike's were way more into the puking than we were.

2 pairs of socks, i was pretty good feet-wise, just hand-wise i was kinda cold.
someone should probably look into who owns that property
and i would think that restaurant employees would discourage such things, as they might be bad for business. this clearly wasn't the case, and definitely added to the excitement.

I would think that since there is no "private way" sign that it is a city street, and there are no "no trespassing" signs. In map books and even on mapquest, Harvard property is nearby, but not THAT close. I was informed a few weeks ago that Harvard does not by land directly, but rather have land purchased under other names so no one will suspect anything. Harvard has been buying up land in that area for years now, and I know they have plans to gentrify[?] it.

I should have used some extra socks. My hands were fine for the most part as long as I had my gloves on, even though they were not to thick.

i thought there were more pics?
but those pics are pretty nice. a bit gruesome towards the end though, but doesn't quite have the hilarity of it happening in person.

We will have to have another Spikes ending...

P.S. Alex, I was looking at the pics and my friend said "wow! would he date me!?"... it takes a real charmer to get that kinda response from a girl who's looking at pictures of you puking online...

it was snowing around 10, there was enough snow that when i got on my bike my first few pedal strokes just spun the wheel, before my drunk mind realized that i had to take it slow. then I crashed a couple times skidding around on the sidewalk on the way home.

little did you know that i'd come home drunk an hour after you made that comment and make you guys ride around in the slush, greg.

i don't know how i managed to escape without bruises but it was definitely fun weather to ride around in.

Is anyone still up for cruising around Allston/Brighton tomorrow?

blu3d0g

yeah I run a front, I was skidding for the hell of it because it was so easy. Normally i can only skid when motivated by abject terror when it looks like the front brake alone isn't going to stop from hitting the ******* who just cut me off in a mini.

yes, i'm going to put forth the CVS on comm ave (a block after harvard ave) as the meeting place, simply because it's really easy to find for the folks not familiar with allston. other suggestions welcome. noon still seems to be the magic time.

you are now a published model.

you'll be famous in a month.

If you're cool with it, i might mail some of these pictures to freight train baggage, some of these look like product shots.

booooston, i need your help. my signif other will be in town the 16th-18th of this month. if anyone has an extra bike (not fixed) she could ride that would be awesome... i have a big ass krpto chain so it will be locked up appropriately and i'll make sure it gets well taken care of. she's 5'10" so something 55-56ish would be optimal.

do any of you have an old road frame that you're looking to get rid of? i'm piecing together a conversion for my brother, and i'm looking for an old road frame of a reputable make (fuji, bianchi, raleigh, whatever)

the only requirements are:
-steel
-59-61cm
-68mm english bb shell (cottered cranks are ok)
-horizontal dropouts (obviously)

edit: i forgot to mention that i want to BUY it from you... i'm not looking for a donation, just to be clear!

The Bicycle Film Fest deadline is coming up soon. A friend of mine and I have a great idea for a short film involving fixing random bikes, group riding footage, and other kitschy scenes. We're hoping to recruit a few of you to join us the morning of Sunday, February 18. Volunteers will wear all black including face paint and get filmed riding as a group for a few hours around various Boston landmarks. Should be a fun morning and will hopefully end up in the BFF. Email me at david(underscore)a(underscore)rye(at)yahoo if interested.

I'll probably be in NYC still, recouping from Monster Track.

In other news, does anybody want a unicycle for cheap? It's the ultimate fixed! And I'm maybe getting rid of my beloved dirt jumper: Santa Cruz Chameleon frame, sweet components. Just haven't ridden it in a long time. Email rsarnold[at]gmail.com if interested.
