Rides and Races - Boston rides

i cannot ****ing wait until next weekend when i come out with a bunch of nyc kids. scott and crew, please tell me you know where the party is. i need your help to show brooklyn that boston can still get down til all hours of the night. none of these suckers believe me.

and while my monster track record doesn't show it, holy hell am i planning on taking top ten on the 3rd.

i don't know specifics but i hear post-race the boston cyclistas are hosting a beers and gears social. i'm sure robin will post more on the subject shortly. boston won't disappoint.

i also enjoyed how everyone at lauren's was like "yea, i'll probably have 2 more beers and then i'll be done." three 12 packs later.

i'm surprized i didn't die on my way home, which could have, very easily, happened.

ok, so tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday, the weather should be kinda decent. is anyone up for riding on these days? if atleast one other person is willing to ride, i'm down (i'd just rather not go riding around boston by myself). you (plural) choose the time, because i do nothing with my life outside of classes so i'm almost always free.
also, last thursday night ride someone (i forgot who; i know there were only 4 of us, but i have a terrible memory) mentioned something about 20-35 mile weekly rides (minuteman trail, etc). have there been any developments in this? because i'll probably be up for it.

i propose moving the thursday nights to 7pm instead of 10pm. i can't ride that late anymore, turnout is at record lows, and a bunch of people i talked to would prefer it earler. are there any dissenters?

Any chance of 8? That gives lots of time to get out of work/class/the strip club etc without being too late.I know I haven't made it to any of these simply because by 10 I don't feel like riding back into the city.

I am a great addition to any group ride, I guarentee you won't be the slowest or have the ugliest bike!!!

I like 10, just cuz I work most thursdays and don't get out till like 9:30. More than enough rides going on lately though that I can make do if everyone wants to do 7/8.

while we're all debating over what time for thursday night rides (any time works for me), is anyone up for rides at other times this week? come on! it's february and 40degrees, such things should be taken advantage of.

As far as rides this week...i'm busy monday and tuesday...and i have a ton of **** to do in general this week, but i would like to ride weds, thurs, and fri. In preparation for saturday. Early rides are better for me...like 6ish or so.

Yeah, sorry...i have this FE review night class that has had some schedule changes...usually it's on weds, but this week it's on tuesday, and a make-up for the class that occurred on the day of the snowstorm was rescheduled for tomorrow. I may be able to do a 3pm ride tuesday if we could keep it to 2hrs...then i could be back in time for the class, which starts at 6.

:-( I don't wanna talk about it... I broke up with my g/f a few days ago and she asked me to drive her around to run a few errands in order to help with the splitting up of the apartment etc, so I agreed... I was driving near central sq and the whole ****ing crew rode right by me!! watching everyone pass by during an Alleycat and being in a car and not on a bike is a sad sad sad sad sad feeling...

I was hoping to start going to the Thursday rides, but I don't get out of work until about quarter after 8. 9PM, anyone?

how far away from the christian science center do you work, kuje? can you make an 830 ride? we never end up leaving on time anyway, that's why i'm hesitant to push it back till nine. as it is, we usually plan to meet @ 10 and by the time people show up/we attempt to lay a plan for where to ride, it's 1030 before we actually start riding. i have to get up around 630am so starting a ride at that hour makes for a painful friday at work and i've talked to some other people in a similar situation. i want as many people who want to ride to be able to come, though.

uh, sadly the beers & gears party has to be postponed. our hostesses decided that they couldn't handle more than 30 folks at their place (after their last party got busted by the cops). so unfortunately you'll just have to settle for dollar drafts at the VFW hall in Andrew Square where Jacob has booked the after party.

The cyclistas WILL have a party at some point tho... I promise to keep you posted.

I like early riding too. That way: more riding!

Depending how I am with battle damage and the weather I might squeeze tomorrow in. But I'd rather be healthy for Saturday's race than force myself out tomorrow.

ok. so...andrea and gary want in as well but they have class untl 315 & 320, respectively. how about meeting at the mfa @ 310 and then riding to mass ave/comm ave to grab those two? then we could ride across the river, go down mass ave a ways. we could ride around spy pond and stuff. after that, anyone who is interested can join andrea and me for food at veggie planet in harvard square and aaron and joshua can make it back to wentworth in time for class. sound like a plan?

Yeah, that sounds awesome. I'm going to be too excited to sleep...and too excited to write these two papers that are due at 8am and i have had a week to write.

I think every ride ever should meet at the MFA, but that's just me.
I'm also going to be there.

i gotta say, i'm very psyched on how this makeshift, spur of the moment ride among 3-4 people is becoming a much larger ride. also, because it seems like a few of you will be getting on and dropping off at numerous times, i have NO problem riding aroung for longer in case people want to jump on later on in the ride.
