This is my last resort
Suffocation
No breathing
Dont give a **** if I cut my arm bleeding
Would it be wrong
Would it be right
If I took my life tonight
Chances are that I might
Mutilation outta sight
And Im contemplating suicide

Woah woah woah... lets hold up a minute. That's poetry! If anyone wants to "diss" p-roach. I would like to have a nice conversation with them face to face at a coffee shop about the subject.

P.S.: In all seriousness, I assisted a broadcast session with Buckcherry and almost the same exact thing happened. [washed-up] Rockstars ****ing suck.

i am reminded of the absolute best thing Henry Rollins ever said:

"Listen to the stage manager and get on stage when they tell you to.
No one has time for the rock star bull****.
None of the techs backstage care if you're David Bowie or the milkman.
When you act like a jerk, they are completely unimpressed with the
infantile display that you might think comes with your dubious status.
They were there hours before you building the stage,
and they will be there hours after you leave tearing it down.
They should get your salary, and you should get theirs."

ok, so the last thing i'm looking to do is to create some kind of a rift between bfssfg boston rides and bostonfixed.com, but i feel like bostonfixed.com should be promoted a bit more and start gaining a larger readership. part of this is me not wanting to have everything posted on one cross-posted on the other.

now to be a complete hypocrite, i just posted this: http://www.bostonfixed.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=21&page=1#Item_1
(http://www.bostonfixed.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=21&page=1#Item_1)
so yeah. go, give feedback, etc.

i like how this deteriorated into a papa roach lyrical extravaganza. which is sweet, because they are like totally my favorite band ever.

but the real reason i'm a'postin is this:
scott, you took pictures, right? where they be?
andddd i took a handful at the pre race party thing the other night but then somehow lost my frigging totally full 1GB card with about 500 pictures on it in NYC yesterday. i'm PISSED OFFF. durn. oh well.

or maybe i'm just posting because i'm bored and yearn for any human interaction?
ps i convinced my mom to let me come back wednesday instead of thursday, although she is NOT being a happy panda about it. heeeh.

ratattack

mr chortletini taught us that pandas are only supposed to be sad. duh lil andrea katz!

i know my mom took some pictures before her camera died, i'll try and get them from her. and i have one picture on my camera. of the "first" people who came to my checkpoint. without having done a damn thing that they were supposed to beforehand.

Agreed. Start with downtown & the financial district so those messengers don't have too much of a leg up on us. ;)

Anyone want to go check out the first Wells Ave crit of the season Sat morning? I've never been but I've really been wanting to go. Also, anyone know when the Londonderry crits get started in the fake velodrome (ie, the go-cart track)?

A forwarded message from the president of the BRC:

The Boston Road Club's Wells Ave Training Series Lives!

Racing to start MARCH 11!

The Wells Avenue Training Series will kick off the 2007 on March 11, 2007 at
9AM in Newton, MA!

You may have heard that the Wells Avenue Training Series - a fixture in the
Boston racing community for over a quarter century - was canceled due to
increased traffic from new tenants in the Wells Avenue business park. This
was true. HOWEVER, tenant schedule changes have opened a window to resume
racing in March and April - and possibly run a regular schedule through the
summer.

Please bear with us by checking the Boston Road Club website
(http://www.bostonro <http://www.bostonroadclub.com/wellsave.asp>
adclub.com/wellsave.asp) for the latest updates.

Also keep updated with the BRC hot line 781-644-6800 for weather
cancellations

Please forward this exciting news to your club membership and any racing or
cycling enthusiasts who might join us for some exciting spring races.

Hope to see you at Wells,

wells ave starts this sunday. not saturday. its uscf sanctioned so brakes, bar end caps and helmets required. gears may be optional, not sure.

i'm pretty sure you need gears to do wells ave...i looked into it last year. I also remember it being sundays, but maybe it changed due to the higher traffic volume or something, like Robin noted.

[edit] and yeah, i wanna go watch at least.

I'm already planning on going to Wells Ave.. glad they figured this **** out, I was bummed it was starting so late. And yeah, definately road bikes only, but if you have one come on out! Me and some people are leaving from the NU campus around 7:30am and riding there sunday morning. The weather should be pretty nice too (high of 49?) A one day license is like 10 bucks for people w/o a USCF liscense ($60/yr).

i don't like this bias.

heh, well its road bike racing.. uscf stipulates what kind of bikes can be used in different events. in any case you would never want to use a track bike while road racing, it would be dangerous in pack riding. kinda the same reason they don't allow road bikes on the track.

moscow
03-06-07, 04:03 PM
road riding is all about bias...have you ever tried to talk to someone at a bike shop about gear. you are better off just taking off all of your clothes and letting them kick you in the balls.

You can ride a single speed in a Crit if you want, but good luck. The only basic requirements are 1 brake per wheel, a freewheel, and a traditionally designed front triangle (no missing tubes). All USCF races as of 2007 are now fully UCI compliant as well, so I think the weight limit has been raised. You can get more info on bike requirements on the UCI website.

You don't really need an upgrade to race the B race, just get in line at the start.

I may or may not be there.

...have you guys upgraded to cat 4 yet? ...
Ugh... the last thing I'd want to do is a cat 4/5 crit. The only safe place for that is off the front. Great for the spectators though, sorta' like watching NASCAR for the crashes.

ATTN:: Shlitz Blitz people!!!
Hey, this is kinda random but I was just wondering if anyone who was at my place (on Comm. Ave.) after the last Shlitz Blitz (after the Allston/Brighton scramble) lost a black bike bootie? ya know, the kind that go over your bike shoes... Anyways, I just randomly found one in my place last night and its not mine, obviously. I was trying to remember who was there because I had a few drinks in me and clearly wasn't ever looking at anyones feet. That and its -800 degrees outside and those things are expensive so I just assume someone out there is riding around with one cold ankle.... soooo get back to me and you'll get your bike bootie back!!

That's why you stay at the front, hah.. anyways, it takes a decent amount of experience to race cat 3, so I'll do cat 4/5 to get there i guess?

and jacob, i might just do that... although my license still says five. they probably don't really care.

[edit] all cycling is all about bias

well, thats a pretty broad generalization to be making... heheh. i won't disagree that there are a disproportionate amount of ******y road riders out there, the trick is to not talk to them =p

and misspinkbike: thats my bootie! hah, i knew i lost that **** somewhere... i'll try and get it from you sometime.

Cat. 3 fields tend to be rather fast as some riders sandbag when they could probably race cat. 2. Also, it's common for there to be combined cat 1-2-3 fields. (Which totally sucks if you're a 3.) As a consequence, the transition from 3 to 2 isn't as bad as it is from 4 to 3.

Anyway, I wasn't trying to put anyone down with my previous comment. (I'm pretty sure that I'd get dusted in a cat. 5 peloton these days!)

I tried to enter the B race once last May (the C field had maxed out) while I was still on a Cat. 5 license. No dice. I ended up being a spectator that morning.

That's not what I mean. Register for the C and race the B. They don't check numbers at the start, and chances are you won't be winning anything if you still have Cat5 on your license. The B field is usually 3/4, with A's being 1/2 at Wells. If you did win, that would probably be proof enough for them that you were in the right race anyways.

ZEBRA CARES WHEN IT IS BELOW 5°!!!! other than this, zebra doesn't care about much. zebra likes being able to feel her toes. she has very nice toes, in fact, and wants to keep them on her body.

what about if it's 6°? and stop gloating about your toes in the 3rd person! they're not that necessary for bike riding.
