Fell over on the road bike yesterday. Was going through some dirt(stupid of me) and took a small tumble.
No big deal I thought. Nothing bent but some dirt in/on the cassette shifter.
Went for a ride today and it will not down shift.
Took the bike to the LBS and they worked on it for about 15 minutes to no avail.

So now I need a new shifter.
WTF ....just some dirt in the think. You cannot see from the outside that it is even scratched.
WTF this stuff is fragile.

If you have access to an air compressor try blowing the dust and dirt out of the shifter's innerds. That will work more often than you might think.

That is really weird. Try downshifting all the way, standing still. Is the cable tension increasing?

Yes it is extremely bizarre .....
I tired compressed air and so did the local LBS ... They also partially disassembled the shfter compressed air and lub ......
Nothing worked..... So now the bike is down waiting on parts which will be tuesday.
