I've found a home built 2004 Lemond Poprad, LX/105/Durace, for $450. Has no decals but looks great. Owner said they flaked off. Is this common?
I want to switch the barcons over to brifters (105).
Anything I should think/worry about?

I just sold my 2001 Poprad for $400 without wheels. So you got a pretty good deal.

Decals flaked off? That's really odd if you ask me. I Think that the downtube decal on all of the Poprads was a large wrap-around that covered half of the downtube with the LeMond sticker. I suppose that the small "Poprad" decal could have come off with active use.

Keep the barcons. There's no advantage of having combination shifters and they are a lot more liable to failure in nasty conditions, more expensive, heavier and more expensive to replace.

Wow a 1004 thats vintage man :D

I'd say you got a good deal though it is wierd the decals peeled off. You might be able to replace them if it matters. I agree too that bar cons are a great set up for cross...

The deacals on my '04 Poprad are all in good condition, but they don't see any harsh weather here in So. Cal. I bought my Poprad used aswell, and I've loved it for the past 3 1/2 weeks (445 miles) that I've had it. Mine came with a different setup though; barend shifters, Ultegra crank and rear der., 105 front der., upgraded seat and front brakes.

Good Luck
