Commuting - Celebrate good times, come on!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I learned yesterday that my company, the one that lets me keep my bike in my office, is installing locker rooms and showers. Among the reasons cited was encouraging bicycle commuting.
Pretty sweet.

Cool, Now add a wish list of outside bike lockers.
Great news! My co. has a shower, and a bike rack inside. Very nifty.

Fortunately my company has a fitness center and now offers a room in it to secure bikes. Oh happy days! :D

Well done! I barely get in the building with my folder. As it is I throw the Dahon bag over it. I don't get how it's OK to bring a big, mysterious black bag into a NYC office building but a normal bike is a no-no. Hmmm.

Hmm, well.
I kind of like being able to carry it up to my office where I can admire it all day long. The rake of the forks, the aggressive stance...
That doesn't make me a shallow person, does it?

Dude, I have been working on my management for months, and I work for a National Governing Body of an Olympic sport!
Well done. Would you mind posting or e-mailing their reasoning so I may present my case to management?

No more shallow than I. I sometime take the Dahon bag off of my folder (the sexy, hot mango colored folder yeah!) at work and conveniently leave my office door open so that others can admire (*cough* and think I'm weird *cough*) the smooth, compact look of the Dahon. Does it make me a bad person? Nah. :D

Sure!
Get a better deal on insurance premiums by having a corporate "fitness program".
Improve morale/productivity through physical activity.
Encourage ecological friendliness.
Create a perk for prospective employees.
That's what I've heard. I didn't have to deal with any of the administrative justifications; I just whispered in a few ears. And rode my bike a lot.
