Foo - Day up a mountain

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

So I decided to play tourist today and travel up whistler and enjoy the scenery. The clowd cover was thick but I knew that peak might be clear. My gf and I went up and took some pictures and enjoyed the scenery
Pic1 - Picture of the top of the bike park. This is me coming down the lift from the top
pic2 -4 - This is a lateral picture showing the top of the clowd
pic 5 - Shot of a neighbouring mountain. Combination eng of the treeline and clowdline.
pic 6 - My house is down there some where.
pic 7 - Trying to time a shot to show peak behind the flag
pic 8 - same flag different direction. Little country pride :)
pic 9 - Shot of peak, the highest point on whistler mountain. Sketchy looking lift I have to say :)

great shots, now I understand mtb better --would be a blast to ride that kind of terrain, descents, etc
I was watching one of lucas brunelles videos last night at work, the one with the people riding around on XC bikes, and I think I finally understoof mtb'ing better--looks so nice to be AWAY from traffic/buildings/city/etc--looked very peaceful.
btw, slightly OT--if anyone has any 'essence of mtb' type articles I would be interested, the brunelle video definitely piqued my interest

I am a movie buff. Several movies cover some history and others cover the soul behind it. Not always xc.
The emergence is a movie about the history of bc riding. Now called freeriding these guys were just taking old school beachers or roadie bikes and converting them and riding down the mountains. It speaks a lot about the soul of the ride.
The Collective is a fr movie about 'bros'. Its a mountain bike term for brotherhood. Regardless of ability, skill or even style. If you are on two wheels you are a bro. We will push and feed off of each other and progress. BEcause in the end everyone wants some sort of progression. Whether it be to climb that mountain or huck a cliff. This definately has a surfer dude feel to it. Again not xc.

If I can think of anything else I will definately pass them along. In my world, there is nothing better than being 30k in the middle of no where and not being able to hear a car, see concrete and only being there with some friends. Good times and a great escape :)
Sweet pictures. I especially like the 4th one with the peak peering through the top of the cloud. I need to get out to the mountains more often...

That's the main reason I MTB. It's just awesome to be on a trail, maybe not even half a mile from civilization, and feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. Great stress relief, too.;)
