hey all, i just aquired a rear wheel for butt cheap. it is a suntour superbe pro high flange track hub, single-sided, laced to a mavic tub rim. anyone got any experience with these hubs? any good/lock ring threads wont crap out? i just want to know if i should justify lacing it up to a clincher. thanks for any and all knowledge...

one of the best there are, and they're not made anymore. lace away, but make sure you use quality cogs and lockrings on it.

Heres where I make up for all the bad Karma that I've accumulated over the years:

New York Cyclist, at 110th and 8th in NYC has like 10 pairs of suntour superbe pro track hubs. Only catch: they are all in 20 or 24 hole. He wants to move them for 150 or so per pair.

Go to the track tomorrow and play the ponies, Lady Luck is smiling on you.

How did you come by this hub "butt cheap"?

bought a frame out of a friends basement to build into SS and resell. don't know make of frame, it is lugged, has suntour rear dropouts, and is definetly light enough to be butted. had with it sugino A5 cranks with a single M-type 42T ring, shimano UN cart. BB, unknown black threaded headset in good order, KMC track chain appears to be new, and the above mentioned suntour superbe rear wheel with 15T cog (think its EAI) and lock ring. all for $90. i'll keep the BB and wheel formyself and build it up with a standard loose ball BB i have and a redished road wheel with BMX freewheel. these SS are getting very popular here in philly with all the hipsters, students, etc. great way to make money, and in this case, getting that rear hub for free!
