I used a SRAM Quicklink on my Ultegra 9 speed for years. (Quicklink allows the chain to easily be taken off without any tools for easy and more thorough cleaning) It worked great with both Shimano and SRAM chains. I now have a new Ultegra 10 speed with a Shimino chain, and I am looking to add a Quicklink or similar chain link . LBS tells me that there is no such device for a shimano 10 speed. They say my only option is to buy a Wipperman 10 spd chain, which comes with a "quicklink-like" link.

I went to SRAM web site and could find nothing (chains, link, or cassettes) for 10 spd. I found the Wipperman link, called Connex link, that can be bought separately. Does anyone know if the Connex link can be used on a Shimano 10 spd? Or, is there another solution that won't have me scrap a new chain well before its time??

SRAM has a group of pros riding their 10spd road gruppo currently. When debugged it should be out sometime next yr. Since they lean to the Shimano side it is likely their chains will also, giving 10spdrs an alternate good chain source with some sort of QC.
