I have honestly never seen someone wearing a messenger bag so I can't give you an experienced opinion. Do you need to carry a lot of stuff? Is it comfortable loaded? It doesn't make you look like a lard a$$ or Quasimodo, if that is what you are worried about.

It looks like you're wearing a slanted backpack :) Looking at the Chrome site (I'm assuming your bag's a Chrome) it looks like they are designed to ride that way. Is it comfortable? Does it make you feel unsteady on the bike? The answers to those questions will tell you if you need to exchange or not. Good luck and be safe!

it looks fine, the important thing like everyone said is that it's comfortable, i've never had a chrome bag but do they have a padded strap? i had my timbuk2 for years without a padded strap and one day walking through nyc with a load of books in my bag i decided to stop at a bag shop that had timbuk2 and buy a strap pad, i couldn't be me thankful, i never felt uncomfortable without it but with it, oh buddy is it nice

I wear my timbuk2 lower so the weight is more on my hips. In fact, just high enough to clear the seat when I slip on and off at stops.

I don't think there are any rules about this. Find a snug place where it doesn't slide around. If it works for you, that's cool.

Just put some meat on those shoulders and you won't need the strap pad. :p

Maybe its just me but the grungier look goes well with a messenger bag but the tight spandex thing goes well with a backpack. I'm a little from column A, a little from column B.

Don't sweat the size as long as it carries what you need. I have a large timbuk2 bag that I use for groceries, laundry, and as my suitcase when I travel.

If it works it works. You'll know it's too big if it's empty all of the time. For me it works out realy well because I either need to carry a ton of crap, or everything fits in jersey pockets.

The truth is...no matter what people say...nobody looks all that good wearing one of those...or any other bike gear for that matter.
Take bike helmets for example. Show me one person who really looks good in one of those things...I mean really! (If you are thinking of sending me a link to www.bikerbabesofthe21stcentury.com please don't)
Back packs and messenger bags are the same. It's not a fashion statement...or is it???

It's hard to tell from your pictures; you should be wearing it pretty high on your back. I generally tighten the strap till it doesn't move up anymore. It will feel quite snug if you've got a lot of stuff in it. The only time I don't wear it like that is if there's something sharp poking me in the back.

I dunno, I think it makes you look a little fat. Maybe something with vertical stripes?

Honestly it looks a little uncomfortable. Have you tried using it on your bike yet? I think that would be the real test.

that looks about right. chrome tends to ride a bit high on the back compared to other bags.

It looks about right. My Chrome bag feels most comfy when it's perfectly centered on my back, both vertically and horizontally. The bottom corner of the bag is normally right in the center of the small of my back. I generally don't use the stabilizer strap, by the way -- in my experience, the bag actually stays put better without it.

You are asking a bunch of mostly men about how your bag looks?

Why don't you ask the person taking the picture.

I'm more concerned about the pictures on your wall? Lara Croft, porsches and semi-nude women...buddy, the bag is fine, get out there and ride. Breathe some fresh air...

Don't sweat the bag. If it fits, where it.

Heh, I dont really live there anymore. I live in Los Angeles now, thats kind of my "childhood" room. So I just kind of kept it there. I was just concerned if I was wearing the bag the right way etc. But yeah youre right. If it fits, wear it. Thanks.

Where it in health, man. Mind the straps though. You don't want them whipping around or some yahoo in a truck grabbing them and you!

It's a good fit man.

I have a Timbuk2 that's right about that size, and I'm 5'8" myself (I like claiming to be 5'9", but I'm about 3/4" too short for that to be true).

Just remember to put hard objects towards the flap, and softer objects towarsd your back if possible. I dunno about your bag, but the front pocket in my bag is just the right size for my u-lock...so that's one less hard object to rattle around in there.

I've been thinking of getting a really small Chrome bag for a while, or one of those "han solos" from dank, just for putzing around town.
