I hope this isn't spamming - but I posted this on the Road Bike forum but figured you guys might be interested...
Check it out... I have always hated the way bar end shifters look on aerobars so I decided to see what I could do... Below is my Oval A700 Aero Bar... As you can see I mounted the shifters on the back end of the aero extension mounting tubes... It was very easy to do and did not require any special tools or cutting... The Shimano shifters just fit right in...
I also cut the original bars into two pieces... Now I have one set of short straight bars and a set of short single bend bars... I used a $10.00 pipe cutter that I got from sears to do the job...
And as you can see, Profile Design arm restsfit perfectly on the bars... You just have to use the original mounting screws as Profile Design uses larger screws...
