My friend and I always reserve Sunday for a nice easy day of riding. Typically we ride through Golden Gate Park, haight etc, we just relax and have a laugh, talk and joke around. At the end of the day we'll hit that big oval track in the park(near 36th) and have skid competitions or sprint races. Yesterday was beautiful and on top of all the usual fare, my wife finally bought her first fixie, a 2006 Pista and another one of my friends came out on his KHS(freewheel). Best thing was, that by the end of the day we had taught both my wife and the KHS rider to skid(using other people's bikes). Now my wife is incredibly excited about riding and my friend who owns the KHS, after riding freewheel for years(convinced he'd never be able to skid or survive), said he be fixed by Friday night when we go on our late night bar and city expedition.

Nice weather is cool but being with friends and sharing new experiences is even better. Just blabbering. :)

Next time I go to SF, I'm definately bringing the bike. Maybe late November. How cold will it be then?

you can count in it being between 30 and 90 degrees in November...dress accordingly.

I did some riding with my wife on Sunday as well, it was nice, but it got kinda cold in the park at the end of the day. We migrated slowly back towards home (sunny SoMa) after the fog started to roll in.

Cool. I'll be sure to bring my snowsuit and my speedo's.

i do a similar ride, biking through ggp out to the beach (where i practice skidding on the sandy pavement of the walkway) and then up the hill to sutro heights park (where i skid all around the big dirt area and then do trackstands at the edge of the cliff overlooking the ocean--super cool). on the way home, i go on geary which is fast and the lights are timed all the way to tommy's mexican restaurant (on 23rd or 24th) which has hundreds of tequilas and the best margaritas in sf.

My Sunday bay area ride consisted of the commute from my home by the Parkway Theater in Oakland theater, around the south side of Lake Merritt to Mama Buzz, getting caffinated while reading the Onion, and riding home around the north side of the lake.

Good times.
