In a nutshell...I am turning 50 and used to be quite active up to about 6 years ago. Gave up a lot due to a bad knee and hip. Well this past year I had a hip replacement. My doctor told me to keep up the bike riding (I was ridng a stationary recumbent in therapy). Well when he told me that bit of news I decided it was time to get off the stationary bike and back to an active lifestyle.
I will not even consider getting back on my DF now or any 2-wheeler for that matter so I am now looking at recumbent Trikes. I figured if I was going back to riding I may as well ride in comfort. :)

Frannie, I am new here too, but I have been around the block a few times on my bike(s). One of my rides is a Sun EZ3 AX, the aluminum model trike designed by the folks who made the first 'cycle to break the 65 MPH barrier. Test ride one if you can, and resist the temptation to buy the steel version (the EZ3 SX), both are great recubent trikes, but if you are serious about riding, the AX version is the better choice. you must have been reading my mind! Over the last 2 months looking at and testing trikes I've always come back to the EZ-3 AX. It just feels good when I've test ridden it. I was already gearing to buy that particular trike but wanted to know how other people who have actually owned one liked them. Members on these and other boards have helped me decide that the AX is the trike for me.
