Anyone help here. Trying to replace the brake calipers on my Sirrus Sport, got the LX Calipers, but when I put them on the mountings the pads are about 4 mm short of wheel rim and I cannot raise them anyhigher towards tyre. The slot in which the pad holder moves up and down does not appear long enough.

Has anyone experienced this and any ideas of a solution

This might work:

Look at where the brake shoes are attached to the arms. Each shoe has two differently sized spacers on the outside and the inside of the arm. Try reversing the position of the spacers and see how that affects where the pads hit the rim.
