Foo - Sidewalk Art

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

How he gets the perspective absolutely perfect is beyond me. Just take a look at the last two pictures to see what I mean.
Amazing and as beautiful as the work is, it's still graffiti and he should be fined as such.

Isn't he using chalk? That's not considered graffiti because it will be washed off with the next rain.
Also, most of these seem like corporate hired art projects (Coke, Sony, Rembrandt). I'm sure if there was potential for fines that permits for the chalk art were pulled.
Hey, when Bert did the chalk drawings in Mary Poppins, they were so real you could jump right into them!
And they did wash away in the rain...

You DO realize that it is chalk and only temporary, don't you? Why would anyone have a problem with that?
Come to think of it, my late Uncle John would have. When my daughters were little they were drawing with chalk on the driveway. Uncle John came in and wanted to know why I wouldn't make them stop. He couldn't tell me what harm they were doing or why I should make them stop. Some people just can't stand to see folks having a little harmless fun, I guess.

are you serious? it's public art, not defacement. then again i like graffiti art too. so maybe i'm just not as uptight.

The ones I like are banners and logos at Formulae-1 races (Fosters, Gauloises, etc.) that are painted on the road or grass that appears to be vertical with proper perspective to the TV image. :)
