I was just wondering what everyone is doing out there and with what results. I do about 30 miles a day averaging 19-20mph. I plan on adding 15 miles to this by Feburary roles around. Ive been riding for 3 months and am starting to see that I'm alot better than I was when I started. How long did it take everyone else before they reached a fairly high level of riding? Don't be ashamed to brag!

Between 120 and 130 km/day - average speed = 32 km/hr. On weekends I go into the hills - 4.5 hrs. @ about 28 km/hr.
I'm 58 and I started cycling in Feb this year and a month ago I was averaging 35 miles a day @ 17 mph. Then I fell sick and last week I've had to start over again. Still some good weather days left, though, to bring me back to scratch and then some.
I love my bike
Happy cycling.

Wow, Carl, that's amazing!
I ride six days a week and, in midseason, I do about 400 km per week, so I guess my average daily ride is 67 km. Some of those are long, 150-km group rides, some are short, 40 km interval or hill trainig rides.
As for average speed, it depends on the ride. On a long group ride, it'll be @ 30-35 km/h, while on hills it could be 22 km/h. In a 400 km week, I'll be in the saddle for 15-16 hours, so I guess my weekly average speed is around 26 km/h.
But this is midseason... things are different and different times of year.
