I have two brothers with young kids, my neices and nephew aren't old enough to get out on a bike. I had thought of purchasing a trailer for the brothers, but I arrived at a new idea, get the trailer for myself, and take the kids off my brother's hands, or have them join us on a ride. Then when I'm not hauling the kids, I can haul my groceries, or camping equipment. Just some thoughts. Does anyone do that for family memebers? One of the bros got me back to riding by taking me out on some single track trails around the Twin Cities. He also rode in the Fat Tire race in WI. Now that he has a kid he has ridden once since she arrived. Want to get him back on the road, or the single track.

Good idea. Buy the trailer for yourself and take the kids for rides. If your brother says it's really cool, then just give him the trailer since you wanted to give him to begin with anyway. But I suggest not giving it right from the start because he might not use it and it will collect dust.

Trailers are super-useful. You'll not want to give it up. I've hauled kids, plants, groceries, pets, recycling, laptops, etc. in mine.

If you buy a trailer and keep it under your ownership, you can then lend it to your brother whenever you want, for as long as you want. You'll also have the option to turn the loan into a gift if you want.
