I'm trying to decide which pedals to go with on my road bike (currently using shimano mtb pedals).

Has anyone used the Crank Bros "egg beater" pedals for road riding? Not that the mud shedding ability is necessary but the weight is low, it's multi-sided entry and the cleat is probably easier to walk around in than most road pedal cleats.

thanks for any advice.

Eggbeaters are the best bicycle pedals ever created. I have them on my hybrid which I use for road riding and light touring. Compared to Shimano M535, eggbeaters are easier to click into and easier to clean. And yes, they work with MTB style shoes with recessed cleats.

they are great pedals. If you want the versatility, ability to walk around freely then I would recommend them.
