Hi, I had my bicycle along with my messenger bag stolen out of my car on Tuesday night. If you guys could keep your eyes out for it, i would be so grateful.

The Bicycle: A 1970's Nishiki - Yellow Orange with lots of chrome. Fixed gear conversion with chain tensioners. Surly hubs (thanks City Bikes!) with dried blood on the front hub...long story. Sugino cranks that look exactly like campy stuff...i will miss these.

The Bag: Camo Chrome bag with pump, ipod, hoodie, levers, tools, birkenstocks...you know, typical riding stuff.

This bicycle was my life. I really hope it returns to me as it has been the best thing to happen for me in a long time. It is no Pinarello but it was quite unique and there is probably not another like it as a fixie.

Thanks for all your help. Noah

That really sucks man. I know if it were me I would have preferred they stole the car instead of the bike and bag.

Dood, that sucks. Sounds like it is a nice conversion. It helps to look around the area where it was stolen. Where did it happen? I would let CityBikes and others know to keep an eye out for it, Revolution in G-town does alot of SS work. Chain Reaction might see it too, I think alot of people try to sell stolen bikes there. They won't buy them of course.

Also try posting as well as keeping an eye out for it on craigslist.

L&N thrift on 14th as well as Chain Reaction both have cheap beaters if you need to get rolling fast.

many stolen bikes end up at the pawn shop at Georgia & Florida. Worth checking there. Tell him you want "to see some nicer bikes" and don't tell him you're looking for yours.

Also- watch ebay, of course.

I'm sorry. I'll keep a lookout for it.

Thanks for the pawn shop tip. Anyone know of any other shops in the Logan Circle area? I don't usually leave my bike in my car in the likes of dc but it was ON the corner of M and 13...lots of cops rolling around picking up hookers and such in that area.

damn sorry to hear that, did they actually break a window/pick your locks with the cops around or did you leave it unlocked, i keep my bike in my truck a lot, but its just a plain schwinng. good luck finding your bike.

They actually broke the window. This bike doesn't look that shiny or new. I would be careful of the shwinng. I had just went on a long ride yesterday afternoon and my new bag was full of tubes, new pump, a few small tools.

Here are some pics...since the pics were taken, I have a front brake....What can I say, drunks have slow reflexes. I couldn't figure out how to get the picture smaller than 100kb, because well, i'm not that smart.
So here are some links to my myspaceaccount where i have some pics...shush, you all know you have em.

PS. If any of you Pirates happen to find it in a pawn shop or something like that, I will treat you to a beer or nine. I was planning to come out and join you guys on the 23rd anyway...plans have now changed.
