So Im a naysayer... I thought all you commuter guys were totally dedicated and a little crazy. I generally work from home and when I have to go in for work, its usually a day of hopping from one location to the next and I just cant do it on a bike constantly with having to go back and forth 15 or so miles 2-3 times each day.

Im just getting into road bikes and had some mail to drop off today. It didnt make too much sense to get in the truck to drive 2 miles and drop off my mail, nor did I want to put on all my motorcycle gear. I didnt really want to walk... so I took my bike out :D.

Okay so this wasnt commuting... but its a first step. I used my bike as a form of transportation instead of just recreation. It was FUN too... It was like being a kid again. On my short ride home, I remembered riding my bike up 6 blocks to get ice cream and candy as a kid. I whizzed thru the parking lot wondering if people were gonna think I had lost my drivers license or something since I was running an errand on a bicycle. Got a little chuckle out of my silly thought and came home with a big fat grin.

I think I'm gonna get my girlfriend to go ride and get ice cream with me tonight..

Hehe... the first time I rode to work I felt like I was playing hookie. Hey I'm supposed to be going to work, not riding my bicycle!

It all starts with the fun, take some weekend time and just go ride your bike, lots of other people will be, and have fun.

Your addicted....admit it! I will be having my 2 yr. anniversary of commuting next month! Hey you don't have to ride just to work. I ride errands all the time (shopping, recycling, bank etc...)

Keep Cycling!
