A friend of mine was raving about how good this book "is" (although he has yet to read it). I have it on order at the local library, but I'm wondering if it's a worthwhile read for an open-minded person trying to learn as much as possible in as short of time as possible

I'm curious what criteria would lead someone to rave about a book one has not yet read.

That said, I haven't read it either, and while the description and review opinions on Amazon are, well...just opinions, they don't compel me to want to pick it up.

If you do decide to invest time in it, share your synopsis and opinion with us here when you're done.

Enquiring minds and all that...

I didn't bother with the reviews, but the excerpt piqued my interest, I must admit. Don't know that it would be a life-changing read, tho. Seems that he's just discussing an issue that I'm already aware of while explaining it in a more understandable way than I ever could, I'm sure. Don't know that I'd ever read it, either, but let us know what you think, G. I'm already several books behind in my reading, currently.

I read it. It's a good, interesting read, and I think it's worth reading. You'll probably enjoy it. It's a good book, not a GREAT book, though. I bought it (hardback!), but if I had to do it over again, I'd wait and request it from the library, like you're doing.

Enjoy.
