Bicycle Mechanics - Tufo anyone?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
On the subjects of tires, I am looking to change tires. since I have never rode on a set of tubulars, i am thinking of try a set of tufo clincher tubulars about $35 each at nashbar
has anyone have exprience with them, are they worth the investment or should I save my $ and just get a set of reg. clinchers
Thanks
They are nice...have lots of customers that swear by them. Little pricey depending on the model.
Some people find them difficult to mount but I've never really had any issues with that.
A few of my coworkers at the shop have used them and said they are horrible. They work ok, but their handling characteristics are terrible... our one rider said they would bounce around every corner and wouldn't hook up worth anything.

I swear by them, but I use the tubular versions for racing and training. I find them great in the corners especially in crits. Maybe your co-workers areinflating theirs too high?

I have elites and s33's bothh are great.
For the same price you can get the next model up from Biketiresdirect.com 35 for the C S 33. The Nashbar's are the 22's I think. I just mounted them up and I am giving them a try tomorrow.

Does everybody understand that that his question is about tubular clinchers, not tubulars? I'm curious about them myself.
I have a pair of Tufo tubular cyclocross tires on one of my bikes. My only complaint is that the tan sidewalls are turning black. I can't figure out what's doing it. The bike is hanging on the wall.
I swear by them - both the Elite Road and CS 330 Special models. I like the way they handle and feel. Better than the Michelin Pro Race and Carbon models and the Continental GP 3000's.
