My name is Priscilla, and I'm new here. Don't be too disappointed in us, but my husband, Bob, and I are only casual bikers, but we really do enjoy getting out on the canal towpath near our home. On it it's possible to ride along the Delaware from down near Philadelphia up to Easton, PA, and at Easton, change to the Lehigh Canal and ride up the Lehigh river to -- well, I'm not sure. We never reached the upper end, but I think it reaches at least as far as Jim Thorpe. (The Easton to Bethleham run is interesting; for a while you leave the canal and follow an old rail bed that's been filled in with large gravel, then it's down a winding bit of trail through the woods and back onto the towpath.)
We're not much for road biking. "Share the road" notwithstanding, this area has too much traffic for my liking, and sooo many bikers riding on the wrong side of the road! Playing chicken with someone who doesn't know what he's doing is not my idea of fun.
I work as a database developer and am a displaced Jersey Girl (though I can see the other side of the Delaware from my front driveway, so I guess I'm okay.)
I'll probably not be a heavy-duty poster here, seeing as I get home and don't want to even look at a PC, but I will be dropping by from time to time to say howdy, post a hardware question, etc.
Anyway, nice to meet you all and looking forward to getting to know everyone.
