Tandem Cycling - Co-Motion Maui trip?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I read on the T@H list that Co-Motion is planning a trip to Maui. I checked their website but didn't see any info. Has anyone heard about this?

Back in August Dwan from Co-Motion posted a note recommending a Hawaiian tour company and then let readers know that there was a spot open on a Co-Motion / Andy Hampsten tour of Tuscany that was just completed last week. Here's a link to the post: http://search.bikelist.org/getmsg.asp?Filename=tandem.10508.0257.eml
However, you could probably send Dwan a note to plant a seed for a future Co-Motion / Maui tour. If history holds here, Dwan will quickly figure out there's more $$ in tours than there is in building bikes and will continue to leverage their brand and loyal customer's passions for riding Co-Motion tandems in distant lands, ala Erickson Cycle Tours, Santana's Tours, Trek Tours, etc...

We just returned from the Tuscany tour with Andy, Dwan, Rachel, et al and had an absolutely amazing time! Dwan was talking about future tours and Maui is one of them. Check it out at his site at http://www.co-motion.com/mauitour.html Have fun!

How'z about that... Pricing looks to be a bit better than Santana's Hawaii tour a few years back based on a cost per day / per person, but still not as good a value as Erickson's 16 day tours in Europe. It's also interesting to note that Santana is going back to Hawaii on 13 - 18 February '06 for V.D. day.

Before we even got the Speedster, I was curious and interested in the Tuscany Tour. How about an in-depth ride report/review? :)

Secondsummer tours run by Rob Templin does a Hawaii Tour, although it's not strictly for tandems. Rob is an old tandem hand, having set a record across the USA with Pete Penseyres back in late 70s and has raced the Duet and Co-Mo Classic, among others.
