I've got a RockShox Jett T2 fork that I suspect is need of an overhaul. Haven't noticed any decrease in performance or horrid grinding noises, but better sooner than too late.

The Jett t2 is a coil spring / oil bath fork. I've got the manual, and it says to crack open the fork, dump the old oil, and replace with 10 Wt RockShox (registered trademark) oil. Every 25 hours of riding (riight...) Also check for bushing wear. Also to grease the upper tubes with judy butter or some teflon impregnated oil (whaa?).

Does this sound about right? Anything else I should know? If I can't find Rock shox oil & judy butter, are there any recommended substitutes? Thanks.

Finish Line oil is a common substitute. Judy Butter shouldn't be hard to find (I found it on Google no problem), but Slick Honey works well too. Be ready with lots of rags if this is your first time working on a fork, and pay close attention to how everything fits together, 'cause even though it's not THAT horribly complicated, it can get frustrating if you're not careful.

To tell you the truth. You'd be better off hauling it over to the dumpster than overhauling it.
