I would like to invite forum members who are riding the CBBC Covered Bridges Ride on October 16, 2005, to a show of my wife's artwork in nearby Doylestown, PA. As you may know from a recent "cycling vs. relationships" thread, my wife, Ann Irwin, died in June after many years of illness. Before her final hospitalization, she had been preparing a show of her art, and the gallery has agreed to hold the exhibit (from October 14 to November 20) as a memorial. She worked mainly in collage, in a style generally called outsider art.

When you are in Bucks County for the CBR, please stop in at the Trimbur-Henry Gallery, 263 N. Main St., Doylestown, PA (http://trimburhenry.com/); the gallery hours are Th-F-Sa, 11-7, Sun 12-5. Doylestown is a quaint little town, the county seat, not as touristy as nearby New Hope and not as commercial as nearby Lahaska.

I know this is way off-topic for a bike forum, but it comforts me to share her work with people--friends, strangers, or internet acquaintances. To make it a bit less off-topic, I will add two bike-related remarks: I always regretted that I could not share cycling with her, as she was too frail even for a tandem, and she never said one negative word about my getting a custom ti/Chorus Spectrum for my birthday. If you go to the gallery, please enjoy Ann's art and send her some good thoughts. Thanks for listening. --Roy Zipris
