Training & Nutrition - Those small pains that come and go

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm 37. Does anyone else get these small nagging pains that come and go, half the time they never come back but you wonder if there's something wrong? Nothing debilitating, but annoying. Sometimes it's when you wake up, like you have a stiff and slight twinge in your ankle, then you walk on it a bit and it goes away. Sometimes it can be in the back or knee, then it goes away. They sometimes reappear after a rest day and stay there until I take a nice hot shower. Sometimes they linger until you go on a ride, then they go away. Is this what getting old is like?

Could be, but lately my come and go small pain has turned into a problem. My right knee used to get stiff every once in a while after a long day of riding. It'd go away if I stretched the knee out or rode again. Lately though, it gets stiff all the time and riding makes it worse the next day. In fact, I haven't ridden in 3 or 4 weeks because of it. It's really frustrating. I guess what I'm saying is that little pains that come and go might eventually just come so keep an eye on 'em. FWIW, I'm only 21.
I'm 39 and have simular pains. Most of which I attribute to my new office chair and desk!
