I went to a super bike shop today with wall to wall, celing to celing racks of bikes. The only bike I've ever known is mine with shimano sora(2002). I picked up one of the trek 5200's and was in love. Thats not even funny how light and well built that bike is. Geometry seems to be a perfect fit. The bike itself is just sexy, and I can assure you that I WILL get this bike. Of course it will be February or March before the cash is available but I WILL HAVE THIS BIKE. I've never seen these high-quality bikes before and I'm just flaburgasted. WOW.

I know the feeling. I got a hybrid. Then I wanted a roadbike. Now I want something for downhill riding...and a recumbent...and a tandem...maybe a different hybrid.

You don't bike to save money. You bike because the toys don't make you fat. :D

I know the feeling...lust is a beautiful thing. I have three road bikes--my "main" bike, my backup bike (for when the main bike is in the shop, for use on the trainer, and in really lousy weather), and my Florida bike (my in-laws have a winter home in Florida and we travel there 2-3 times per year).

I know, I'm bad. But we are DINKS, and it's truly my only vice.

Glad you found something you love. I did too. The Giant OCR1. My comment re your waiting until February or March is this:

The OCR1 I was waiting until Christmas to buy was purchased in August and already has 200 miles on it :p

It's really poor behavior to leave something you claim to "love" hanging on the wall of a dark and empty bike shop even one more night. Get it out of there! The LBS won't feed it, pet it, or give it any love or exercise! It's up to you.

Well you can't get a bike unless you have money for the bike :)

Money? Who needs money? Credit...it's the American way! What's little more debt incurred for the love of a fair maiden, or uh, bike? :D

I have been drooling (bike lust) over 2 Bianchis the Grizzly (commuter/off road) and the eros (century bike) I think my 20 year old Bianch San Remo knows I have been looking behind its back. It broke a rear axle on a fun ride on sunday:p I already own 2 bikes I am getting a christmas job to buy the above mentioned 2. And I live in a small (but quaint) 3 room apartment where the heck am I going to keep all of these. Somebody here know where there is a CA 12 step program?

You'll get it quicker than you think. Same thing with my Gemini. I thought it would be closer to the end of September before I got it, but I got it 6 weeks earlier than I expected. The hard part was the 10 week wait when I decided it was what I wanted until I got it. I saw a lot of good weather pass by in that time, but I filled in with magazines, maps, and ideas about where I'd ride.

My lbs were very good. They never let anyone ride the bike while it was in the showroom. You'll go back a few times and keep an eye on it, as I did.
