Well, I made a post in the $500 thread, but haven't received any responses. It as regarding buying a base Rockhopper and upgrading vs buying a Rockhopper Pro. Seems to me that upgrading would cost quite a bit more than buying the components factory installed - assuming they are components I want. Anyway, I went to a local shop, and they had a 2005 Rockhopper Pro 19" (I'm 6'2) that they would deal on. The assistant said $850. Sounded like a good discount to me. Too good to pass up?

If you had searched you would have seen that we discussed this last week. the MSRP on the Rockhopper Pro Disc is $1100. $850 isn't out of line for a end of year bike when you consider the original MSRP

If you had searched you would have seen that nobody last week asked if it is worth buying the pro at discount over the basic. There was some discussion about upgrading the basic now that the rider already bought it. Also, I saw nothing regarding $850 being a good deal. There was no need to act like I don't know how to use a discussion board. I wanted my specific question answered, hopefully by friendly individuals, not holier-than-thou internet "masters." Being a newbie doesn't make me an idiot. I bow down to your greatness, Raiyn. Thanks for your help, buddy :rolleyes:
