Books, Movies, Music & Entertainment - CD Review: Disturbed, Ten Thousand Fists.

Got it today, and listened to it a couple of times already. If you were planning on getting this cd, save your money it sucks. A garage band can produce a heavier sound. Way too mellow of a sound for a group that claims to be hard. With this cd, you get more synth, even more on this cd than with their 2nd release, which is a really bad thing. The cd feels like it was rushed to put together. I had high hopes for this cd, I'm disappointed. I liked Metallica's St Anger album better than this. If you are bent on a metal cd, get Dope's new cd. For Disturbed, can you say one hit wonder?

Unfortunately, those who claim to be hard usually aren't, and those who claim to rock at a higher level merely tend to suck at a higher level. Sort of makes me think of when a friend of mine was really into Linkin Park and claimed that they were a hardcore band. I made him listen to Alive or Just Breathing by Killswitch Engage, and he just got mad at me for sullying his holy mental image of what Linkin Park was supposed to be.

In any case, yeah, Disturbed blows. No chance in hell I'm buying the new album.

Seems that they should've packed it up after The Sickness. I've got that and it's pretty good. Never bought the next one and wasn't tempted after hearing some of it. The new one wasn't even on my cd-buying-radar...Bah!

Okay, so I (accidentally) bought this CD. Stupid BMG featured selection automatic crap!:mad: I like it more than a little, tho.:o Reminds me more of The Sickness than Believe. Kinda pop-metal, I guess, but I've been pleasantly surprised by it so far. A lot of people are criticizing their cover of Land Of Confusion, but I think it sounds pretty good. I'm not saying it was a great choice, but heavy Genesis is kind of neat.:p

I'm in love with everything from metallica except st. anger. Never heard any bad that rocked my world like metallica.

Lots of bands newer albums have sucked. Papa roach, disturbed, linkin park, metallica, staind. Ack.

The album (10,000 fists) almost made it to the expectations. The second release left me flat, so saying that it is better, is a bit easier to say.

That aside, I picked up the new Tool disc "10,000 days" (what is it with this 10,000 crap?). Much, much better than Lateralus.

Although I like the new Disturbed, it will never compare to:

Dont' know about the rest, but I can't stand those guys. Well, I like the music, but the vox are a no-go for me. Usually, if I don't like the vocalist(s), I can't listen to a band.

I guess that Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, (early) Metallica, Dream Theater, Megadeth, Queensryche, Dragonforce, Malmsteen, and Primal Fear, et al., aren't metal any more?

Says the one who likes Atreyu and Avenged Sevenfold, those two right there is alot worse than my putting down of Disturbed.
