Do you ever burst out with,"Nice legs!" And then think,"wow, I shouldn't have said that out loud". But, then again, that's what alot of this riding is all about, noticing how others are reacting to exercise and pain. I've noticed both sex's legs. One older woman thought I was hitting on her. One insecure "hammer" was afraid I was gay and after him. But I am just in awe of well taken care of, sculputured legs. Cycling legs are a result of hard work and genetics. Some people deserve the credit others hold back. Cyclist should be in praise of the legs.
I have one and a half pair. I got into cycling because I couldn't run to keep up my shape. A pair of pedals and a crank equalize the difference. Lungs and great aerobics make my cycling equal to my riding partners. If you have a pair great, if you don't, keep plugging away and enjoy.
Whoa! Too serious? Sorry, I was having a "moment" (and I had to work on the holiday).

On one ride, one of my riding buddies -- a woman -- pulled a monster pull for 15 minutes at 35 km/h in rolling terrain and a headwind. As she pulled off, I sid [totally innocently] "wow, you have amazing legs!" meaning it, of course, in the cycling sense. Jessica winks and says "thanks for noticing."
That's not what I meant! :D

I didn't have legs until I started climbing singletrack hills. My legs were skinny to the point of having big knees ( it's ok, I can look back and laugh now:D ). Now, my knees look small. Like looking at my legs, I'm not vain, I can see the results of hard work and I'm happy.
I never think about my legs much but when I climb those darned hills my legs soon let me know they're still part of my body. I say to them "Stop griping it don't last forever!"

sure do...although I wish my calves were less muscular
they are giant :D
I always had skinny legs and not very strong ones, especially when I was growing up. I had long skinny legs like a stork, but as an adult I had nice long legs and I admit they were one of my best features. Still, they not very strong since I was never much of an athlete. However, I now have nicely defined muscles thanks to cycling and weights. I really wanted to have some strength in my legs- serious musclage! I will never be a member of the big thigh club with big sprinter legs, but I have to say I'm really impressed with the change. However, no one has really commented on it except for my bf. Oh well, I don't cycle just so people will flatter me. I do it so I won't have to wear undies!

i dont have the biggest legs but i can still grind up the hills no problem.
Since I started biking, I have become very impressed with my legs. They may not be perfect, but they have never looked the way they do now. I enjoy pointing them out to my family. And I really enjoy getting on the scale and seeing how I weigh what I did in early high school. :)

I have those too!! It is a love/hate relationship, as I get muscles like Zena the Princess Warrior. I love to lift weights, but it is no fun to do a million reps of a low weight. I try not to, but I love the challenge of a heavier weight as opposed to the million reps. The thighs are huge too, but rock solid. It is really hard to try to find jeans. They fit in the legs, too big in the waist. Arrrggh! Sometimes it is hard being a woman. :D

I keep getting told something like "minus the scabs and scars, you have nice legs.."
The best comment though, came from a skeptical classmate. I wore jeans mostly since the classroom was always kept below 63 at least. One day, she put her hand on my leg and then said "Wait a minute. " She pokes at the tendons at the top of the knee and asked, "how many pairs of shorts are you where underneath?" I had to get down to boxer briefs to prove there was only one layer. Last I heard someone saw her on a ride in the Austin area. and had the kind of legs that grow up into an....

Yuuuup. They sure get the attention of the girls ;) I've noticed the veins starting to appear in my quads which is wicked awsome. But most of all I like my legs cuz they get me where I need to go. I stopped and thought about how much it would suck to not be able to use my legs. I have a new outlook on cycling now.

I wasn't impressed with my legs until I shaved them for the first time and saw what was hiding under all the fuzz. . . some of the most beautiful calves in the barnyard.

You don't like a tan? Strange, muscle shows up better with a good tan :)
Hey Yall,
My sister and I had the nickname of "thunder thighs". Our family have big thighs and calf muscles. Since I've been ridin though, they have become more defined. I feel stronger and have lost about 15-20lbs.
It's a great feeling!

Yup! I've got two (at the last count) - one on the left, and let me check, one on the right as well, so all present and correct. 2 years ago I was emaciated and looked like a candidate for a concentration camp. I've pushed a lot of weights since then, and now my legs are muscular with good definition. My wife likes them and is most complementary. If I could only climb hills and keep up with her at the speed she does them, I'd be happy.:)

I took one of my Co-workers to the local trail to test out his new Mtb. We work in Different buildings so I haven’t seen him for about a year, We use to go to the Same gym a couple years back and he is a dedicated weight lifter.
As we are getting ready to hit the trail he comments to me “ Dude, Your legs are Huge! (gym talk meaning Muscular) Have you been hitting the legs in the Gym? “ I said Nope, Just been riding my Bike. So he says “Well Lets Go, I want to get some legs like yours”. So I responded “Someday you will… Young Grasshopper” We both laughed and took off to ride.:p
