Saw this in boys life mag took 5 days to arrive online
from seattle. its amazing and i reckon will be sold out by the holidays
not in many shops in NY yet. my kids love it

The Mattel toy company used to make something back in the sixties called the Vroom! Don't know if it worked exactly the same way but the effect was the same: Delighted the kids and drove everyone else nuts with the noise. My cousin and I both got them for Christmas one year when we were about nine. They were great fun.

Of course from my perspective now I can think of all kinds of reasons why I'd not want to buy one for a kid--but I have to admit that when I was a kid, I loved the thing.

Apparently other people have fond memories, too; there's one up on e-bay right now with fourteen bidders up to $50.
