That top pully is kindof useless hanging up there. It doesnt look like it would even touch the chain in 1st gear.

What do they do, I see them on some bikes but I don't get them. They just look like some thing to waste your money on.

They prevent your chain from de-railing from the chainring. I couldnt ride without one. It is definitely worth spending money on a good one. I have been injured from a chain unintentionally derailling.

ooo, Will it only work for single sproket Cranksets? Cuase Mine always comes off.And about how much are they.

It will be modded to run with a bashring, my handcut one doesn't cut it, so the upper pulley cannot be run down onto the ring.
I'll get it rigged up eventually.
I've taken the upper off, may try a narrower pulley. The lower is to keep the derailer tension high to stop shift\skip if I run over stuff while on my small sprokets.
When the tension is low -on the small gears, the slack chain is when it jumps.
I get good enough results just lower to keep the chain on for now.
