As per a bianchi dealer here in Denver it looks like bianchi will have a couple of options out for the 2006 Pista. One chrome that may be somewhat similar to last year and another bike (a single speed that will probably allow you to flip in the rear to track mode for those that hate coasting as I do) that will also be steel in an unknown green with a front and a rear brake (why they would make a bike that can be ridden track style with a rear brake--maybe to compete with the Lemond Fillmore or the Raleigh).

Just like to throw out there that for all those that hate Pistas--this bike is not for the velodrome. It's a great commuting bike, though, which allows me to tack on another 60-100 miles per week commuting. I can't imagine why people hate a $500 bike so much. Do you also hate the guys who commute on their hybrids with a granny gear? Give the Pista a break--it's darn lively for a $500 steel frame and I guarantee it will improve your climbing skills and pedal stroke. No doubt, for serious track riding you would not go with a Pista and as a result you should not be concerned with the quality of the headset or bottom bracket on the basic pista.

this bike is not for the velodrome.

explain please.....
it's one of, if not the only, budget, steel bikes with "track geometry"

people hate on the pista because it's all shiny and chrome and so popular with the hipster set.

the pista is perfectly acceptable as a velo rig, you'll often find them as rentals at local tracks.
i love the way mine rides.
