I was just wondering if anyone on here has ever been to woodward? i want to go but i need to know if it is worth it. 17 parks sounds awesome but 895 bucks is a big investment to go to camp for one week. And does anyone know why they don't let non-campers in?

Only during the off-season, unless you've got an in. All summer long it's camps, camps, camps. And f*ck you if you're over 18, they're not lettin' you in except for like 2 weeks at the end of the summer. A friend of mine was all set to go work out at Woodward West this summer, but he took some gig he ultimately wound up regretting in Jersey instead (I *told* him Jersey sucked balls). Maybe next summer. :D

I went two times and it was really awesome both times. I was going for two weeks the one summer, but the first day of the second week I messed myself up, hit my face on the ground, hurt my leg realy bad, screwed my bike up like woa, so I went home and went the next year with the refund. It had a really good time. It's nice to get to meet some riders from all over the country, Woodward West wasnt open yet so there were west coast people there too. The staff is really nice. you will have the time of your life if you go no matter how good or bad you are on your bike. A good idea is to go for a week and see if you can be a dish dog and stay longer. You get to stay in the regular cabins and ride all week and you dont pay, you just have to do dishes like twice a day. Working there is a good idea if you dont want to spend money, look into that.

That was definately a problem, me and one other kid were the only people actualy trying anything during the instruction. Do anything and everything you can when and if you go.

They can't just let people in because the place is packed during the Summer. I mean, they are sold out from when they open to when they close and while the lodging sucks, they make their entire years profits and have to pay everyone from what they make in just a few months.

Keep in mind they own hundreds of acres of land there that is maintained as well from the camp.

Is it worth it? In my opinion, if you can swing the cash, it is well worth it.

I've been a few times, but never as a camper. Been there for contests and one of my best friends was the bike director for a few years so I went to visit him a few times. Probably would have been more fun if I wasn't a flatlander though.

Vert, on an Ares Choise, w/160mm cranks and 18.5" top tube is not easy.

in america the cops literaly hate anyone who skateboards or rides BMX so you have to be real careful what you do.

didn't they demolish love park?

Philly seems cool. My friend rode there once, but he said it's pretty small. I don't know.

the younger cops (20-30) are cool sometimes, they will tell you to leave. sometimes they would encourage you to do your trick. old cops are *******s, they get bored one day and decide to **** with bikers. Keep in mind , i live in Nyc, home of the most crooked cops on the planet. 40 bullets fired to a man pulling out his wallet. The only place where cops would stick a mop up a man's ass.

a cop told me and my friends to line up on a wall. my friend refused so the cop swung at him. he ducked and we ran. he would've hit back, but that's a felony.

They didnt demolish LOVE, they just put huge planters and bolted down benches in there. They didnt take anything away... its there, just behind a bench. and there is constantly a security gaurd there to ***** at you. Theres still city hall and the federal building and countless other spots all over the city. Great wall rides and rails and ledges and quick-creted jersey barier quarters and things of that nature. It's not a huge place, you can pretty much ride all of the major spots in center city in a day. And to JMC about american cops, it really depends on what cop you are dealing with, but most can be real jerks. Nothing like what I've read about from other countries in ride like cops helping out riders and cheering for them. Lots of skate stoppers on leges and rails.. then you just stall on them.. They love that after they have went through all the effort to "skateproof" stuff. I love when they just cut out little chunks of cement because you can still grind on most of those ledges with a bike, just not a skateboard.

don't forget the kinks on rails, they were made to stop skaters, but they make it better for us.

i've seen pictures of city hall. looks pretty fun. not the place for me though.

I love new york. all the spots are right nnext to eachother. it's huge. it'll take about a week to hit every spot in downtown. if you ever come here, you gotta ride the banks. then theres the chinatown banks, down the block, seen in every animal video.

if you've never hit a rail, you will probably start here. there are hundreds of nice rails here. all shapes and sizes

I know of the chinatown banks. I watch the animal videos alot. I'm trying to start going to New York more regularly, like just to hang out, but I will eventually start bringing my bike and riding. It's like $25 round trip on a bus.
