Rides and Races - DC Pirates' Pillages and Plunders

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Cranksgiving was a success, DC Pirates donated 25-30 pounds of food to the DC Central Kitchen. Thanks to everyone who came out and raced or met up at the finish line. Hope you all had fun.

Okay, I'm about to make the posting I never thought I'd have to make...

My bicycle, Purple Rain, was stolen from out front of my house last evening. I put it out a few minutes before heading out and it got nabbed. I'm too heartbroken to even be upset. If it comes back, that would be excellent, if not I will make a copy of it.

Here is a picture:http://farm1.static.flickr.com/183/477466055_432e6ca03a.jpg

It is a Panasonic road frame 53 cm in purple with a sparkle coat.
-Mavic OP rims
-Michelin ProRace 2 tires
-Formula hubs
-Shimano 600 crankset
-Surly cog
-KMC Z Chain
-Selle San Marco Rolls Saddle

I am in NW Washington DC. I'm going to check the pawn shops and call the police. Please keep your eyes open. The bike is hard to miss and completely custom, so hard to hide as well. If anyone has any information, please let me know.

I'm going to mourn for a few days and then get started on recreating it. If anyone has the same parts or a 53 cm Panasonic frame, I'd be happy in buying them from you.

Thanks.

ryan

ok, so it's really two states and one taxation-without-representation-colony-hoping-to-become-a-state, but we'll call it three states, for the sake of discussion...

CALLING ALL PIRATES!
The drunken (and sober, for your straightedge kids) pillaging returns!

Following the great success of our sparks-foraging, fries-eating, makers-toasting, beer-swilling, persian-agitating Farewell to Kenton pillage we are off to our next adventure on the mighty seas of pavement.

THE EPIC TRI-STATE MARGARITA RELAY!
Mark your calendars Wednesday, May 14th, 7pm, at Sherwood. (also known as the polo circle. also known as franklin square. could possibly be labelled as 14th & K NW) Leave 7:30pm

Bring your ID and some cash, as we ride for margaritas in the Free State, the Capitol Colony, and the Southern Commonwealth.
If you're under 21, that's cool, since it's more restaurants than bars anyway, so you'll get in. Really.

Running late? whisper me fore a cell phone #.
