Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. concerning mixtes, dictionary.com (and i presume most other dictionaries) define one as having a pair of tubes that run from head tube to rear axle (split top).

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=mixte

uh, lets see if i can get the pics on my puter

chimbley: can you get a copy of the manifest up on flickr? i still can't find orleans st!

chimblysweep
12-04-05, 09:57 PM
sorry, i have no copy of the manifest.

but, i do have to set the record straight.
i didn't hurt nobody. there was an accident, and it was just that - an accident.

i am NOT violent. nope nope nope.

Britpac
12-04-05, 10:30 PM
Jonny it was Orleans Place, not street, I found it on google maps. Its between 6th and 7th immediately south of Florida Ave. put this address into google map "Orleans Pl Ne, Washington, DC 20002"" and you will see. Not suprising we didn't find it, it isn't marked on our map!

har har har, you pacifist assassin ;)

in all seriousness, it was an accident, it sucks but it happens once in a while; doesnt appear anything was broken, could have been much worse. wear your helmets kids. :)

whens that five dolla holla tink?

jonny5
12-04-05, 11:00 PM
that l'enfant guy was gonzo...what's orleans place doing way down there, so far from, say, lawrence, monroe, and newton streets? whatever. crazy frenchman.

so i wanna find a copy of the manifest, and i also wanna figure out if i was somehow registered as "johnny" from nyc or "jenny," though neither makes much sense.

enjoy the snow tomorrow -

Yes, I believe this to be mainly true.
We pirates are just prone to hurting each other.
We might as well start bringing a first aid kit.

It would be interesting to see a modern frame maker, lug carver go for Tribal or Celtic knot or an art deco theme. Now, to find some lugs on Ebay, a few pop up every so often. Also which modern roto tools and EDM, there can be some very interesting possibilities.

It took 2 trips to get all the empties out to the recycle bind this morning. :P

I think we need to do some day rides for the sake of riding, my legs are toast from the alley cat

12-05-05, 11:15 AM
HMmm, there is also photo etch, ELBeeKay, do you do photo etching for the print blocks?

Britpac
12-05-05, 11:36 AM
EDM would be a sweet way of doing it, though you'd optimally need a 3 axis machine and I've never seen one of those. I never seen it used on tubing but I can imagine you'd have to be very careful with the wall thickness.

holy roman empire, it's almost new year's time!

a day after bike polo, all are invited to my place in mt. P for a raucous new year's thang. bring your bikes. bring your pants. bring objects that you are willing to burn in the *bonfire* we'll be having in the back (burning pants is OK). bring waterbottles for the keg. bring extra new year's resolutions, too, cause i need one. suggestions?
