Rides and Races - DC Pirates' Pillages and Plunders

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

25,000$ worth of bling, now fellow pirates... if we could get our hands on this individual...

We can so take that guy down. Here's the plan.
1) Get a pie crust
2) Get some glue
3) Put the glue in the pie crust and cover with tastey whip cream
4) Serve with delicious side of goat sorbet
5) Take the pie, which will surely now have dental-bling stuck to it, and ride away into the shadows where we will bide our time until next we strike.
It's crazy enough to work...right? I mean it involves goats and pie, how can it go wrong?

Goat Smoker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It may be too much work. P' n C' don't like to work hard.
Look, I really don't care how you want to kill the darn thing. (btw: I perfer my goats in tender bites in curry or slowed cooked in a brown sause) If you are up to the task of building the smoker and then spend the time to smoke it, sure we can do it (I have Fri off). Have you figured out how long it would take to smoke an entire goat and whether it would fit in the cardboard box or tin can?
btw; to the Veggie's out there, would you be oftened by being in the same room when non-veggie stuff is cooked?
And how many people are coming???
And is marcel going to bus down from NY just to party?

I'll probably be a little late for the cooking festivities, and as long as youre not playing with your meat i wont be offended.
And how many people are coming???
hmm, i'm guessing 20, but what do i know? like i said, bring as much of your dish as you can cook/bake/carry.
And is marcel going to bus down from NY just to party?
he better come, i'll pay his chinatown bus ticket if needed.
and for the non goat people: http://static.flickr.com/35/73382704_6fcbb4a0ae_o.gif

Hmmm. So us silly vegetarians are allowed to play with our meat? Ah, more perks of the diet.

I don't mind helping, but it would be easier to roast the goat. I just thought it could be fun.

bahahahahaaaaaaha! i mean >bleat<
Hey, you know what? Even if I were in town, I'd skip your little wahoowah party and instead spend the day cutting my toenails. Once I was done with that, I'd trim my nosehairs, and then once I was through with that, I'd polish my spokes and clean my tires with my tongue. I hope you and your damned goats have a grand old time. Heathens! All of you!

ok, since the white elephant was my idea, here's how it goes:
bring something either that's laying around your house or that costs $10 or less. wrapped. we need some good, some goofy.
then, we put all gifts in a pile. draw numbers. #1 picks and unwraps gift. #2 can take #1's open gift or open one from the pile. #3 can take either #1 or #2 or open. and so on... fun.
pirates!
it's volunteer night at chain reaction.
come see the 3rJr in person.
bring beer.
i'll be there by 7.
Was this the last one before they move?

Kenton, are you going to get the goat? is there a way of cooking it on the grill... or we can use the oven , but Chimbly needs to bake too.
I would love to smoke a whole goat (is that what the kids are calling it?) but maybe a later date. Otherwise, there is always lamb roast from Costco, or whatever. Kenton, please call or write and we'll make this happen!
usually on volunteer nights we clean up/organize the shop, make the old campy/super-maxy/dura ace parts nice and sparkly and put them on display, and talk about the pros/cons of running a bike shop like a non-profit rather than as a biz-ness. also, we usually rummage for parts for our own bikes (or maybe i'm just speaking for myself), and fix up remaining projects. it's cool. But i guess it won't happen again until after The Big Move. Here's hoping that goes well. And that the new place is goat free.

In Washington district right in the corner of New York Avenue, Florida street and O street, a huge farmers' market now flourishes, selling mainly African food. From Amala to Gari and Iyan as well as other condiments to cook the soup to eat these Nigerian dishes with. African families now come to this market, buy a full goat or sometimes a full cow and share right there in the market.
Does this place really exist?
ACK!

welcome back, h8r. coming sat?
Nope, for the same reason I' haven't come to crap lately, it's always on a busy night for me. Thursday through Sunday I'm almost always busy. The first half of the week when everybody stays home is when I like to get things done.
They need people this Thursday, and Sat too.
So if I show at the old CR up on Saturday I can help out? Any idea what time?
