Cool, we should go and perform a pagan ritual at the local obelisk (http://www.nationalgeographic.com/walkingtours/images/tour/DCT03_monument.jpg)

Did some one say, We should partake in the "sacrificing of a goat"
no more sacrifing goats until you finish the last goat!

New Year's Day - originally on the Winter Solstice, New years was considered the most powerful time for divination. A traditional New Year's divination was called podbljunaja (powd-blyew-NIE-ya) or "under the plate".
Podbljudnaja - (Pohd-blyood-NIE-ya) - "Under the Plate"
This form of divination should be done on Koliada and New Year's only. Each person takes a ring off their finger and places it into a bowl filled with water. A plate covers the bowl and songs are sung over it. At the end of each song, a ring is pulled out and the fate that the song is believed to apply to the owner of that ring.
so who is bringing the nomad and little speakers, i need drinks and music to sing.

Unless I can perform these rituals whilst riding I am staying inside with warm rum......yum.
edit: This one (http://www.astro.cf.ac.uk/cgi-bin/recipe/process?rum-toddy) is for Chimbly, butter to rum ratio of 1:3 :D
i think we should go back to the ellipse, we left as soon as i handed off travel scrabble last time.

and, on a completely non-winter-related, 6-months-away note...
we were talking about the iowa ride. here it is:
http://www.ragbrai.org/
this is the biggest freaking mardi-gras-county-fair-on-wheels featuring beer gardens in every town and a strict carry-your-own-koozie policy. lunch is pastafari, pork chop guy, or whateverthelocalchurchladies made, and there's pie galore. i'd be willing to do it again, that's for sure.
no need to make decisions until mid-March. but if you're planning your '06 vacation time, it's worth considering.

Gosh, I must be the worst neighbor ever! :P
The party was great! THE PIES were yummy. the recycling bind overflowed w empty cans and bottles, the goat was and still is delicious (apparently we didn't cut into the really tender parts).
I'll be in Asia for 3 weeks, so my poor neighbors will have some rest. Chimbly, if you can take charge of the Mallets while I am gone?
But on the serious note: let's keep the noise and drinking INSIDE from now on. I really need to be a good neighbor and don't ever want another cop incident ;)
Cheers
sorry BBike, no keys found as of yet, but your flipper is here

okashii and i may make it down as well, though i have a stoopid 8pm meeting tonight to make afterword.
edit: ok, i wimped out. i had to go home and change out of work clothes, and my nose got cold on the way home. that's a sign to me that it's not good riding weather, so i kept my rollers company instead. glad y'all had fun.

Edit: the ride was sweet, but my feet turned to ice  thanks Ninja for the company
The ride definitely was good. Man, I was spinning like crazy trying to keep up with your 48/16 ride. A bit chilly though...but afterall, that's what they make whiskey for.

ok, totally random. me planning ahead again. bear with me.
they just released more tickets at the zoo to see butterstick. since many out-of-towners will be here for the midnight frostbite *and* since we all have monday Jan 16 off from work, i secured 18 tickets to see butterstick that monday at 12:50pm. the tickets are under my, tink's, and spud's name.
hope y'all don't mind. add butterstick viewing to the weekend plans.
it's freaking 18 tickets. you can bring your SignificantOther, since panda cub viewing is clearly an intimate activity meant to be shared with loved ones. (if, like me, you don't have an SO, you should be happy. being single is awesome. super awesome.)

Request? If someone has something to say to ALL of us I say that they kindly post it to ALL of us.
As far as "They" are concerned, I don't know why its such a big deal. We do all of our rambling in one forum, not 10, 20, or more. I think we are as much part of the online community as "They" are. In all fairness our ranks are growing stronger by the day. More new pirates have been posting than ever and with all this lots of non-bike stuff has been going up.
As long as this Interweb forum is free, I say we should be able to post freely without being harassed. They don't have to read our thread.
I say its time we rase our dam pirate flags.

QUOTE]
I'm curious about the details of the request.
There has been a lot of monkey chatter lately, pun intended, but I'm chalking it up to the holidays, mixing of old and new pirates, as well as this season which makes us all a little stir crazy and keeps us from riding more and chattering less. I'll admit and accept flak for the off-topic animatrons born of office party cocktails also.
Did someone say ride? I'll be there late, bringing, once more with feeling, my illegal noise.
Nick and I are going to grab dinner...I say Baja Fresh in Dupont...Anyone else want in? If that works for you meet us up around 6:15.
Otherwise PM me until 6pm.
