Rides and Races - DC Pirates' Pillages and Plunders

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

speaking of haters...
you'll never guess who i bumped into while in line at the burrito cart today.
yes, one of the original pirates, our very own - h8r
he's doing well, and although shaky on the idea of getting up "so early", is going to try and make it this weekend for laps at Haines.
man,, it's been a while since he rode with us.
and a lot has changed around these parts.
it was good to see the new faces last nice, and makes me excited for the new people we'll all meet once the weather warms a little.
for the time being it looks like only the toughest remain on the streets.
it must be in our blood.
tink,
I'm gonna cut your ****ing head off next time I see you. My neck is killing me today. You sucker-headlocking dingleberry...
much love,
ninja

Some of you pirate people suggested I repost this here.
My girlfriend and I will be traveling to D.C. for the World Can't Wait protest on Feb. 4th and will be bringing bikes. We will only be in town for a little while and part of it will be spent at the protest. What/where should we see/do/eat/ride while there? Will anybody else on FG/SS be at the protest?
boneless chicken. All (most) of the museums in town are free. The National Gallery is my favorite. http://www.nga.gov/
Also the Smithsonian: http://www.si.edu/museums
Asylum is a great shady bar. They also have veg. food. And if you hang with us, you will likely end up there.
*twiddles thumbs*

I created a DC Pirates "Group Photo Pool" on Flickr. Sort of a pirate central for all our pirate related photos. It's a "public" group, so everyone feel free to add all your pirate pics. or just your favorite ones.

+1. Amazing Cezanne show opening on the Jan 29th at NGA. Big poppa of modern art. It's the 100th anniversary of his death. Everyone must see.
(The amazing Dada show will not open until Feb. 19)
Edit: Hirshhorn is #2. This is pretty darn cool: http://www.hirshhorn.si.edu/programs/podcast.html

I don't know Hirshhorn would be tied for number 2. It has better sculpture and it's one exterior window has a great view of the mall.
I'm a little partial to the National Museum of the American Indian myself, http://www.nmai.si.edu/

For the record, I tried to edit this to say "tied for number 1" but the system wouldn't let my edit go through. The system was keeping me down, man!

Ok, whiners:
11am TODAY, HAINES, RAIN OR SHINE.
Quit trying to move the schedule all around ****ers.
If something doesn't fit your schedule, take charge of your own ride, not other people's.
fo real, its not the pirates' fault your life sucks.

props to LBK and Ninja for riding in the torrential rains and 45mph gusting winds. YARRR!
Did someone say baby daddy? Who that is?
Everyone go download "My Baby Daddy" by Nut N 2 Nice, Tink's theme song.

Furthermore, with the unusual improvements in weather and the eventual improvement in weather, I'm proposing a weekly ridey night, can be laps at Hains or trips on any of the trails. The point is ridey with social drinky and eats at the end of the ride. eventual scheduled races at hains (like thursday propect park) would be awesome too.
around 10 people showed at prospect last thursday at 10 pm in 25 degree weather.
thoughts????
its this weekend, umm i forget how many miles now, i want to say 17 hours. i dont plan on going.
