Rides and Races - DC Pirates' Pillages and Plunders

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

seriously...
I'm up every morning from around 1 to 4am
A 2am mini pillage wouldn't actually be that horrible an idea

really though,
something in the evening...
something next week...
maybe a game of polo...
maybe a quick trip over to this local bar i know...

I'll let you know.

and peter,
you have no idea :)

Anybody want to go ride around for a while at about 2-ish? I'm putting a new BB on Noah and feel like I should probably ride for a while after that.

PM me, or meet at the Warehouse at 2:30.

Oh one more thing, for you bikers and photographers out there--Check this out if you are interested:

WETA Radio’s (90.9-FM) interactive new program “The Intersection” gives its greater DC-based audience an opportunity to share opinions and connect with a community of listeners both on-air and online.

In the spirit of "The Intersection," WETA is launching an online photo-sharing group, available at http://www.flickr.com/groups/wetaintersection/, to help us explore the intersections in our community. Here's how it works: You submit your photos of the intersections that you observe through your camera lens, along with any comments you want to include through Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/groups/wetaintersection/). WETA will use the most captivating shots for a regular feature on "The Intersection" Web site (launching in July 2006). If WETA uses your photo, they’ll be sure to credit you with a link and a photo credit.

WETA welcomes all sizes and shapes of photographs into the collection, but if you are aiming for inclusion on the site, please provide a landscape (horizontal) oriented shot of at least 361 px wide. One last note... BE CREATIVE! Don't limit yourself to shots of streets and roads. While those are important in understanding the physical landscape of our community, WETA is more interested in the less-physical intersections in our world - ideas, lifestyles, concepts, people, classes, races, colors, artworks, modes, and anything else that contributes to the breadth of depth of our shared experience. Thanks for your help with this project!

in other news
my basement flooded
ruined boxes of other boxes
soggy stuffed animals sat sulking
100 lbs logs of infested wet area rug
and the smell...

so i went riding in the rain
the hot torrential downpours
blinding and stinging my skin
deafening claps of thunder
who cares about a mudguard
it smelled fantastic...

he's looking at me now
beautiful brown eyes
these expressions are priceless
look at his little lips
he knows who I am
daddy loves you

Is it bad that I've been sitting here for 5 minutes trying to figure out what kind of Bottom Bracket that is? Also I think a sqare taper is more condusive to insertion in an ear. I mean, I don't want to start some kind of war here photons but you can't just slap whatever the **** parts you have laying around on Noah's head. It's just irresponsalbe, and somebody's gonna get hurt. I mean what if I was cranking up a hill and that BB slipped out, or worse yet down a hill, how would you feel then?

Tink I have some bar tape if you need it. It's silver.

although it's hard to tell, that bottom bracket is indeed square taper, and it's campy so you'll be fine. i was a little worried about the threading in noah's ear, but i just loctited the **** out of it.

tink, let us know if you need any goon power to help with the flooded basement (you didn't have carpet down there did you?)

and, lastly, hains point smells like poo.

love,
