okay..
i liked the "yarrr mother****ers" idea as we do in fact say that quite often!
but in any event, i moved some things around and tried a different font

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v385/TinkTank/optionD.jpg

(fyi the first font was "rapscallion" and can be downloaded from one of my favorite royalty free font sites http://www.dafont.com/en/)

p.s. tink's shirt needs some subliminal black ink: "Heeeeey Guy!"

I like B followed by A " a bunch of.... with a biking problem"
I mean I really really like ending with "...with a biking problem" or ".... with a riding problem". :)

i think it's smashing.
also, I have a formatting request for the front image. could you enlarge it and cut it in half and send it in two separate docs via gmail? the pdf you sent me is locked, I think, so I cannot change the size.

What if we skip the "2005"? Or are we planning to have a new design/t-shirt every year?

spud

i was kind of thinkin that too, but i do like collecting cool t-shirts....

are we planning to have a new design/t-shirt every year?

hey as due paying members we deserve a little something special no?
okay so we don't pay dues,, but why not have a new shirt every year.
besides, with how often this shirt will be worn, i think by next year I'll want another.

limited quantity runs produce highly desirable collectors items
or something like that.

so listen,,, I know its only wednesday,
but what's the story for this weekend?

I have saturday open and I'm looking to get some serious riding in during the day and some serious fun in the evening. anyone else game?

is the next organized ride going to be the Halloween Haulass Hide-n-Seek? (3H ride)
because,, thats kinda far away.

Rincewind8
10-19-05, 09:44 AM
We still can make new t-shirts with different design every year. Even if we leave the year out of this design.

chimblysweep
10-19-05, 09:44 AM
the halloween hide-n-seek is one week from today. y'all better bring it. or at least be there.

and i fourth the motion to drop the year. if you're worried about collectors items, why not change up the design? why does it need a #?

As for the design..... Do we want to be on our bike advertising that we may be drunk. I know we don't follow any "laws" but we still can be harassed by the Man/WOman/Pigs.

Tink, I like where you are going with the text. The type face may tend to bleed alot when screened. I've got like 10,000 typeface so If you want I can try to find something close, but that is tighter. I think when printed the type could be made to "look old" but I think its easier to make it look old than start with it looking old. ElbeeKey????

I was thinking about that, too. But then, there are so many t-shirts that advertise drinking and the likes that I don't think we will run into problems. Just a thought.

hmmm. why would the text bleed? I haven't had any problem with finer detailed images, why would text be different? I'm not arguing, I'm just curious what your experience/problem was.

You know it's supposed to rain all weekend, right? Not being a wimp here, cause them new tires on the polo bike work real good in the rain,I'm just saying.

So what's everyone else going as for the Samhain ride? I still have no idea what my costume will be. Most of the ideas I've thought of wouldn't work on a bike. Too many mobility, retention, and vision issues.

From my experience (mostly with paper) type face change when printed. Edges get softer, line not as crisp and one would like, ext...

I always trust my venders advice, so if Elbeekay says it can be done, then it can be done.

good news. the rensho is home. i rode her to work today. she is so choice. (if you have the means, i highly recommend picking one up).

photos forthcoming.
needless to say, she will not be making an appearance at polo. but pillages are still possible.

although,
i feel the need to say this once, and then i won't mention it again,
i'm still a little banged up from last time we played polo.
would anyone be interested in a good old fashion ride?
maybe afterwards we could play once we're all warmed up.

i was thinking a good 20 after work and then see where I am from there.
and for the sake of throwing a time/place out there,,,
shall we say sherwood at 7pm?

get on the point. go forward to the golf parking lot- you know, where the road starts to go one way? turn into the golf parking lot and you'll see the 'clubhouse'. just past the clubhouse, in a grove of trees, that's where the pirates be.

btw- anyone check the weather? it's rather grey right now...

oh yeah we'll be riding in some nasty ****
but it couldn't be as bad as when WaitUpForMe and I went for a lap around haines point and caught the sprinklers in the face the whole way around. and why would that be nasty you may say,,, the sprinkler water was being pumped straight from the potomac.

Light rain in Bethesda right now. Supposed to rain tomorrow into Sat and clear up Sun AM.

Found out on the last polo outing that Vittoria Randonneurs make good rain tires. ;)

we could totally photoshop in some hooks and an eyepatch on the FSM for the front, and add the Temp Vs Pirates chart on the back with slogan.
